Marko is a saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist based in London. Marko was raised in musical household hearing music from John Coltrane to Alexander Borodin. He started the saxophone at the age of 12 but it wasn’t until a few years later at age 17 where upon hearing the music of Joe Henderson led to a focused interest in Jazz.
Marko joined the House band of the Weekly Jazz nights hosted at the University of York aged 18, before going on to join John Warrens Jazz orchestra as second Tenor in 2018. During this time Marko became one of the primary tenors in the York jazz scene, opening for bands such as Alfa Mist, Neon and the Deons and the New York Brass band.
Marko currently leads Karma Quartet, an alternative jazz outfit that regularly performs in Brighton and London. He also leads The Marko Marsenic Quartet, a jazz band with a speciality in playing events. He tours Europe with the Neue Grafik ensemble and also contributes his saxophone playing to a multitude of different groups including, Zami Yazeed, Benjamin Luhis, Asaph Kolokale, Twanda Champs, Buffos Wake and many more artists.
