This week we caught up with Javier from our unique Spanish and Latin band, Los Amigos.
BC: Hello there, so who are you?
Javier: My name is Javier, a Spanish singer and guitarist from Barcelona now based in London.
BC: Describe what you do in one sentence?
Javier: I sing Spanish and Latin hits with my band Los Amigos, everything from the Gypsy Kings to Buenavista Social Club!
BC: What makes you different from other musicians?
Javier: I’m good at reading the audience, adapting to the event mood and getting the crowd on fire when the time is right!
BC: How did you become a musician?
Javier: I had my first guitar at 11, then I just wanted to sing and play!
BC: Who is your favourite artist?
Javier: Older recordings from the 60s, 70s and 80s, all kind of music that is played with soul.
BC: What has been your favourite ever event (and why)?
Javier: All the events I do are great; I meet lovely people and enjoy seeing them happy with my music.
BC: What would be your ideal event?
Javier: A summer party in the countryside, with a nice hog roast, hot weather and people who love to dance!
BC: Who have you most enjoyed performing for/meeting on an event?
Javier: Every event is different, I get to play at lots of celebrations, so everyone is happy and I help to make the day unforgettable and extra special.
BC: What do you do the rest of the time (when you’re not doing your act)?
Javier: I run my little Cafe in South London, Cafe Barcelona!
