Role Overview
As Technical Assistant, you’ll assist the Technical Coordinator in the planning, logistics and on-site execution of our events. You’ll work closely with the Technical Coordinator, the Head of Events and the wider team to ensure all technical aspects of the production run smoothly – from lighting and audio to staging and visuals. This is a hands-on role and you will be expected to be involved in delivering equipment to events, rigging/installation, and working at events in capacities appropriate to your skills. This is a hands-on role that requires strong organisational skills, a good understanding of AV equipment, and a can-do attitude.

Key Responsibilities
● Assist the Technical Coordinator in end-to-end technical production for events, from planning to de-rig.
● On-site setup and breakdown of AV equipment including lighting, screens, sound systems, and staging.
● Assist the Technical Coordinator in managing logistics for equipment transportation and crew scheduling.
● Assist the Technical Coordinator in managing the warehouse, including maintenance of equipment and stock management/inventory
● Work closely with entertainers, clients, and venues to ensure seamless delivery.
● Conduct site visits and produce technical specifications for events.
● Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed during production.
● Liaise with suppliers and freelancers where required.

Essential Requirements
● Clean UK Driving Licence (ability to drive vans and transport kit to event sites).
● Strong practical understanding of audio-visual equipment. (Sound desks, lighting rigs, screens, etc. Plus knowledge of industry software such as QLab).
● Proven experience in production within events, theatre, or live entertainment.
● Ability to troubleshoot under pressure and think on your feet.
● Comfortable with hands-on work including lifting, rigging, and setting up technical gear.
● Excellent communication and organisational skills.
● Flexible schedule – availability for evening/weekend work as needed.
● A strong team player with a proactive, can-do attitude.

Desirable Attributes
● Experience in live performance or entertainment industry.
● Formal training or certifications in AV or technical production.
● Knowledge of health & safety regulations and risk assessments.
● Familiarity with event planning software or project management tools.
